Bringing life to the unseen
By changing the relationship between the museum, the curator and the viewer, we want to allow the viewer to become the curator of their own bespoke museum.
The V&A only shows between 5-8% of its total catalogue at any one time. By moving the museum to a warehouse, access to objects that may have previously been viewed or have never been seen is made possible. In essence ‘Bringing life to the unseen’.
The warehouse will utilise a fully automated system consisting of robots implemented by the likes of Amazon, Alibaba and the British library. Through an interface much like a search engine, the viewer can search objects which the mechanical arm can bring to them in a controlled area for them to view.
