Tea culture represents itself as the culture of U.K., which is also one of the most popular activities in the British social life. It gradually became a fashionable social activity.

 

In recent years, coffee culture is rising, whereas tea culture is not popular anymore among young people. It results in the crisis of tea culture. For this reason, tea companies try their best to create the whole-new tea experience for customers in the hopes of making them like tea once more. However, in order to adapt to the needs of contemporary society, it is important to know how can we design the tearoom for attracting young people. How to find a balance between the new and the old in order to promote the preservation and allow the development of tea culture is the essential point of this design.

 

The main purpose of this study is to conduct research on the relationship between the British afternoon tea culture and the development of tea room space, then to think about how to build a tea room in the contemporary society that meets the needs of young people.
